A new way of looking at asthma and seasonal allergies

International guidelines from the Seasonal Allergies and its Impact on Asthma (ARIA) panel, in association with the World Health Organization, emphasize that because these related conditions are both caused by inflammation in the airways, they should be treated together. By managing the dual burden of asthma and seasonal allergies together, doctors can ensure an effective approach to alleviate the irritating symptoms of both diseases and administer an appropriate treatment.

Asthma with seasonal allergies increases medical concern

Asthma attacks often increase if symptoms of seasonal allergies are present.

Asthma patients that suffer from seasonal allergies are twice as likely to go to the hospital as a result of a serious asthma attack.
